On the occasion of the 55 years of cultural relations between France and Myanmar, the (IFB) is organizing in partnership with the Governement of Yangon Region, Mingalabar! a multidisciplinary festival in Yangon from 2nd to 4th December 2016.
Following the parade of two giant puppets, more than a hundred French and Myanmar artists will present performances and live shows (concerts, street art, video mapping, fireworks, dance,…) in key locations of the city. Mingalabar! will be the opportunity to raise awareness on the urban issues and the role of culture and artists in the urban development of a city. To initiate this process, a pilot project will be presented with the artistic make-over of the Myaynigone flyover.
First multidisciplinary festival of international scale, Mingalabar ! will bring to Yangonites a breathtaking show investing and giving back the streets to its inhabitants. It will also position the city of Yangon as an active cultural city in South East Asia.
